PEAK MUSIC 1977

This is a series that will attempt to Sport(ify) music by creating a 5 member All-Pro/All League/All Star team (Sort of like the NBA first team all-stars) for each year in Music starting with 1964. It will rely heavily on Top 20 Hits from the year but also take into account Concert Tours, Music awards, Music Videos (MTV Crowd-You Tube), TV, Films, Pop Culture etc…..

1977

This was an easier year to pick than 76 as the top musicians were more defined

Fleetwood Mac had 4 top ten hits including "Dreams" that went to number 1

Eagles – 2 top 20 hits including "Hotel California"

Foreigner – 2 Top 10 hits including "Feels like the First Time"

KC Sunshine Band – 2 top ten hits including "Boogie Man"

Barry Manilow – He had a number one hit "Looks like we made it"

Other Contenders Leo Sayer 2 top 20 hits but not "you make feel like dancing" which debut in late 1976 and Debbie Boone whose song "You light up my life" was number one for 10 weeks.

  1. Shaun Cassidy (three top tens including a number one) has a case. The top two especially are very clear.

  2. Fun lists! I'm curious how things will shake out once you get to the 90s and 00s!
