PEAK MUSIC - 1965

This is a series that will attempt to Sport(ify) music by creating a 5 member All-Pro/All League/All Star team (Sort of like the NBA first team all-stars) for each year in Music starting with 1964. It will rely heavily on Top 40 Hits from the year but also take into account Concert Tours, Music awards, Music Videos (MTV Crowd-You Tube), TV, Films, Pop Culture etc…..

1965

The Beatles had 5 number one hits and 6 top twenty hits  and the movie Help!. Granted at this time in the 1960s Elvis's movie career was heading down hill. The Beatles also had a famous concert at Shea Stadium in 1965

The Supremes had 4 top 20 hits with 3 number one hits including "Stop! In the name of love".

The Rolling Stones had 4 top 20 hits with their theme song "I cant get no satisfaction" being one of their 2 number one hits

I could not believe it but Herman Hermits makes the list in 1965 at number 4. They had 6 top ten hits. I can't believe it "Mrs Brown you have a lovely daughter" a song that seems terrible but is an EARWORM (look up the meaning) was a number one hit.

A very difficult pick, The Byrds had there only 2 number one hit including "Turn, Turn, Turn" – They burned out quickly after this (like Pete Reiser) year.

  1. Looked up some other contenders and I can't really argue with any of your picks. Maybe you could make a case for James Brown for the last spot.
