his is a series that will attempt to Sport(ify) music by creating a 5 member All-Pro/All League/All Star team (Sort of like the NBA first team all-stars) for each year in Music starting with 1964. It will rely heavily on Top 20 Hits from the year but also take into account Concert Tours, Music awards, Music Videos (MTV Crowd-You Tube), TV, Films, Pop Culture etc…..
1975
There was a flip at the top
John Denver 5 top twenty hits including 2 number ones
Elton John 3 top five hits including 2 number hits
Eagles – 2 top two hits including number 1 "One of these nights"
KC Sunshine Band – 2 number one hits including number one "Get down tonight"
Jefferson Starship 1 top ten hit (a personal favorite) "Miracles"
There may have been some choices at number five as Chicago and Wings both had 2 top twenty hits.
I was also surprised that Ringo Starr from 1971 to 1975 had seven top ten hits - which seems remarkable after his run with the Beatles and him being considered the least talented Beatle - but for PEAK MUSIC he was unable to break in on any year.

Yeah, Ringo had quite a run there. John Lennon sent him a telegram that read "Congratulations. How dare you? And please write me a hit song."
ReplyDeleteI'd give the last spot to the Captain and Tennille, with 2 top tens including the biggest hit of the year, "Love Will Keep Us Together", which was so big that the Spanish language version charted on its own. They ended up getting a primetime network show out of it.
