NBA's greatest players No. 14 John Havlicek

What stands out with Havlicek was his 8-0 record in the finals. Better than Michael Jordan.

Prior to the 1969's final, there was not a finals MVP awarded. So I went back and awarded Finals MVPS posthumously – I think Havlicek would have won it in 1966 and 1968 – In the 1968 final he averaged 27.3/8.7/6.7 in points/rebounds/assists.

I know it could be argued that Bill Russell should have 10 finals MVP only losing to Jerry West in that 69 Finals.

The 1966 finals MVP is kind of a stretch but he was 23.3/10.0/4.0 in the series. Havlicek led Boston in scoring in 2 of the games that they won. He scored at least 20 points in six games of the seven games. His big game 4 - 32/7/5 put Boston up 3 games to 1.  I realize that Bill Russell scored as many points (23.6) as Havlicek in the series and averaged over 20 rebounds and he did have a great game 7.

When John Havlicek retired in 1978 he was second all time in combined (reg season ad playoffs) points behind Wilt Chamberlain with 30171.
