I had forgotten that Ken Singleton was traded for former 20 game winner Dave McNally. This reminded me of an old baseball rule. “Never Trade A Good Hitter for a Good Pitcher. O.K. I know that the (Fregosi – Ryan) trade goes against the rule. But more often and not it is the hitter that tends to have the better career (Frank Robinson for Milt Pappas).
