There was something very familiar about the 2012 Topps design that I could never place it. But now I have figured it out. It appears Topps tweaked its 1981-82 NBA card design and came up with the 2012 design. They made the corner name rounder and not jagged but that is about it. I don't blame because how many new designs can you come up with all these years. Initially I did not like the look of this design on their 2012 cards but now that I made the connection to the past, this set will probably grow on me.
