The first set to ever have logo cards - 1974-75 Topps Hockey

I believe that is the case. I do not recall any Topps (baseball, football, basketball or hockey set to have a logo card in it until this set). I do not recall any Fleer (football, baseball or basketball set) or any Philadelphia football set having logo cards. Team cards yet but not like the card above. This set had the Capitals card and the Kansas City Scouts expansion cards in it.

  1. Back in 1966, Philadelphia Football issued a logo card for the expansion Atlanta Falcons (cards # 1 and #13 in the set) since they didn't have a team photo or a team action photo (which is what they used for the other teams, and then in 1967, Philadelphia had team logo cards for all the NFL teams.

Around the same time this Capitals card would have been released, Topps issued a Utah Jazz logo card in the 1974-75 Topps Basketball set as well.

  2. Thanks for clarifying - I only have the 1964 Philadelphia set, I thought the other Philly sets might have had logo cards. Missed the New Orleans Jazz card completely
