PEAK MUSIC 1987

This is a series that will attempt to Sport(ify) music by creating a 5 member All-Pro/All League/All Star team (Sort of like the NBA first team all-stars) for each year in Music starting with 1964. It will rely heavily on Top 20 Hits from the year but also take into account Concert Tours, Music awards, Music Videos (MTV Crowd-You Tube), TV, Films, Pop Culture etc…..

1987

Another difficult year to process or / and A great year in music.

Michael Jackson had 3 number one hits including BAD

Madonna  - 3 top 4 hits including number 1 WHOSE THAT GIRL

U2 – 3 top 20 hits including 2 number 1s WITH OR WITHOUT YOU

I originally had Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam at 4 (2 number 1 hits) but moved Madonna from 6 to 4.

  1. I always liked Lisa Lisa, but I can see where she can't quite crack the top 5.

An interesting note is that singles would last longer on the charts in this timeframe than earlier, which is why you don't get artists with 5 hits in a year the way you did in the earlier years.
